The 16th edition of the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge took over the streets of Dubai, UAE Sunday morning, with over 1200 cyclists trying to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships – and claim part of a 36,000 AED (10,000€) prize purse.

On a flat as a pancake 96 kilometer course the Turkish rider Danil Konotop claimed victory from a large intact pack of riders in 1:57:36, finishing with lightning-fast average speed of 47kph. Marco Lumanog and Rashid Abdulla Suwaidan were 1 second behind to place second and third respectively.

From the same pack of riders Olivija Baleisyte (DUBAI POLICE) placed first in the women’s competition with a time of 1:57:54. Madisson Black and Alina Abramenka finished immediately behind in that order.

Competitors finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category qualified to participate in the 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Niseko, Japan next August.
