The Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC) in partnership with RADL GRVL is holding the first Oceania Continental Gravel Championships in Adelaide, Australia on Friday 23 January 2026.
OCC is one of five Union Cycliste International (UCI) confederations (Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and Pan-America) awarding prized continental championship titles just below that of UCI World Champion.
“Gravel is the latest discipline to be added as a Championship event, and with nine Oceania Championships taking place in 2026, there are more opportunities than ever for athletes to race for the coveted Oceania Champion’s jersey,” said OCC President and UCI Management Committee Member Tony Mitchell.
The championship will take place in Southern Australia as part of RADL GRVL, a race founded in 2023 by F1 superstar Valtteri Bottas and Australian professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell.
Only cyclists with a valid UCI license from American Samoa, Australia, Belau, Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, or Tahiti are eligible to compete for the title of Oceania Champion.
Champion jerseys and medals will be awarded to the top male and female elite riders, as well as to various age-group brackets: U19, 19–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74 and 75–79. Winners in each category will also automatically qualify for the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships to be held in Nannup, Australia next October.
