The coastal Colombia town of Barranquilla hosted 8000 riders from 28 countries at Rigoberto Uran’s El Giro de Rigo “Pretty in Pink” gran fondo on Sunday, with most taking on a 165 kilometer route lined with thousands of cheering fans.

Special guests included 3x Grand Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali, Fabio Aru, Nairo Quintana, Sergio Luis Henao, Óscar Sevilla and 2019 Tour de France champion Egan Bernal.

But none of those cycling superstars, or Rigoburto, were in it to win it, they came for the pre and post race party.

Its was former local pro Jhonathan Ospina taking first place in the gran fondo, finishing in 4:08:42, just ahead of David Gutierrez. Sebastian Mejia was next in 4:10:41.

Angelica Uribe was the first woman to finish, completing the route in 4:23:15. Liseth Tarazona placed second at 4:30:54, followed by Laura Pineros at 4:30:55.

Navier Villadiego won the shorter 77 kilometer medio fondo in 1:47:48. Gustavo Herazo and Andres Suarez were right behind in that order.

Katherin Jaraba sprinted to victory in the women’s medio fondo in 1:57:49. Ana Maria Rios Pinillos and Maria Pallares were just a tire width to take second and third place in that same order.
