Thailand hosted its first ever gravel world championship qualifying race on Saturday 1 November at UCI Dustman in Kanchanaburi.

Riders finishing in the top 25% of their UCI age/gender category automatically qualified for the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships planned in Nannup, Australia next October.

On a 130 kilometer course 11 times Japanese MTB National Champion Toki Sawada (ASTEMO UTSUNOMIYA BLITZEN) soloed in for the win with time of 4:07:52 in the men’s race. The Dane Tobias Moerch Kongstad 4:11:10 and Rick Nobel 4:18:35 of the Netherlands completed the podium.

British pro triathlete Caroline Livesey won the women’s race in 4:50:32, with Australians Dimityle Duke 5:08:52 and Sofia Erhard 5:46:24 next.

In the 90 kilometer medio length qualifying race for older age groups Alexander Schneider of Germany won in 3:30:35. Russ Allen of Great Britian 3:37:43 finished second and Australian Timothy Armstron 3:42:26 claimed third.

Australian Claudia Dohr won on the women’s medio course in 4:04:21, with local rider Cherry Nimitporntrakul 4:26:56 and Angela Kohl 4:33:35 filling the lower podium steps.
