Latest anti-doping news from around the world:

On Thursday Colombian Cycling Federation (FCC) announced athletes David Santiago Uribe and Marco Tulio Suesca are each banned from sport for 4 years following decisions by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Tribunal of Colombia finding them guilty of Erythropoietin (EPO) doping.

As an 18 year-old Junior road racer David Santiago Uribe tested positive out-of-competition for EPO on 3 December 2024. Six weeks earlier he finished third on Stage 3 at the prestigious Vuelta al Porvenir race for up-and-coming young riders. He is banned from sport from 3 December 2024 until 3 December 2028.

Also testing positive for EPO out-of-competition was former Vuelta Ciclista International a Costa Rica champion (2022) Marco Tulio Suesca, 31. The anti-doping test took place on 2 October 2023, just two days after he won the Mountains Classification at Vuelta Ciclista al Ecuador. Subsequently, Suesca announced his retirement from the sport on 31 December 2023. He is banned from participating in sport in any capacity until 2 October 2027.
