South Africa’s largest and richest one-day race rolled out from Johannesburg with close to 15,000 elite and amatuer participants at the 28th Ride Joburg on Sunday morning.

Sprinting to victory and take a lion’s share R200,000 (€10,000) in cash winnings was 23 year-old South African Jaedon Terlow (PYGA EURO STEEL). The 23 year-old MTB rider, now also road racing, finished the 97km race in 2:09:56, followed one second later by former champions Ryan Gibbons (2024) and Marc Pritzen (2023) at 2:09:57 in that order.

29 year-old Mauritian Kim Le Court (AG INSURANCE-SOUDAL) triumphed in the women’s competition, soloing across the finish line in 2:37:26, over a minute ahead of Lucy Young 2:38:44 and Magda Nieuwoudt 2:39:08.

For the older masters age categories Werner Roux took the win in 2:26:03, followed by Egon Campbell 2:26:19 and Dutoit Van Den Bergh 2:27:16.

Beverley Wingfield captured victory for the masters women in 2:41:18, with Nadia Stuckler at 2:43:39 and Sanet Coetzee 2:46:32 rounding out the podium.
