The popular Tour de France amateur race series rolled into historic Instanbul, Turkiye on Sunday for the second edition of L’Etape Turkiye, with over 1000 athletes competing on 105km gran fondo and 52km medio fondo routes along the Bosphorus Strait connecting Europe and Asia.

Gokhan Uzuntas (MUDANYA BELEIYESPOR) soloed across the finish line to win the gran fondo and a prized yellow leader’s jersey in 2:56:58, with Anton Hrabovskyi 2:57:11 in second place and Turgay German 2:57:38 third.

In the women’s gran fondo Gokce Demirsoy (ADK RACING TEAM) pulled on her yellow jersey after winning in 3:14:34 , followed closely by Vicky Walsaw 3:14:45 and Aylin Yuce 3:23:04.

Sevket Ozer won the green jersey sprint competion, with Anton Hrabovsky taking the King of the Mountain title and polka dot jersey.

Sevcan Alper Ozcan (ASPEROX BIKEPEDIA RACING TEAM) earned first place in the women’s medio fondo in 1:35:25, with Buket Demirci 1:39:02 and Olena Maksymenko 1:42:05 taking the minor podium places.

For the men Murat Uslu (BUYUKCEKMECE BISIKLET KULUBU) finished in 1:23:21 to take the medio win by a tire width over Kamer Kanber. Tugrul Atakan Demirtas 1:23:23 followed in third place.
