Italian amateurs raced for national championship titles and tricolore jerseys at Granfondo La Medievale just outside Tivoli this weekend, with the Italian Hillclimb Championship on Saturday and the Medio Fondo Championship on Sunday.

Winning the overall hillclimb on Saturday was 36 year-old Luca Prete (ENERCOL 2WHEELS) with a time of 17:56, followed by Stefano Bartolotta 18:09 and Nicolo Tamussi 18:30.

45 year-old Loretta Giudici (IL BICICLO TEAM NEW LIMITS) won the women’s overall with a time of 22:18, with Tonia Palmieri 22:23 and Federica Cancellieri 23:48 close behind.

Sunday’s 105 kilometer Medio Fondo Championship saw 25 year-old Nicolo Tamussi (TEAM MOOVEO) 2:46:59 narrowly defeat Rossano Mauti 2:47:04, with Gianbernardino Velotti 2:49:03 finishing third overall.

Loretta Giudici (IL BICICLO TEAM NEW LIMITS) returned to the top of the podium to claim her second tricolore jersey, winning the women’s overall medio fondo in 3:12:39. Rachele Chisci 3:13:29 and Lisa De Cesare 3:15:35 completed the podium.
