The scenic Istrian Coast of Croatia hosted the mega-sized Istria 300 gran fondo on Saturday, with a record 4200 competitors riding 300, 209 or 125 kilometer routes starting and finishing in Porec.

After winning the 125 and 209 kilometer races in previous editions Valerie Rupitsch (LIV CYCLING) completed the Istria trifecta – adding an Istra 300 victory to her palmarès. The Austrian finished in 9:39:03, followed shortly by Annalisa Prato 9:52:27 and Camilla Berggren 10:07:44.

Fellow Austrian Daniel Federspiel (MALOJA PUSHBIKER) won the men’s 300 by a tire width in 8:42:18, out-sprinting Hans-Jorg Leopold and Wolfgang Krenn who finished in that order. 2024 champion Alban Lakata was 5th.

In another thrilling photo finish Christopher Holzer 5:55:32 won the 209km race, with Marco Marina and Martin Legovic completing the men’s podium. Maja Mencigar won for the women in 6:17:56, followed by Michela Santini 6:21:46 and Carina Zeigler 6:26:50.

Pia-Maria Thoma 3:44:41 won the women’s 135km competition, with Kristina Koter and Johanna Grunwald finishing second and third. Drazen Strugar 3:33:29 sprinted past Roko Doljanin to take the men’s win, with Borja Jelic earning third place and the final podium step.
