The 15th ASVÖ King of the Lake Time Trial around Lake Attersee in Austria took place Saturday 20 September, with the Dutch track specialist and barista Brian Megens (FIXED GEAR COFFEE) and former German pro Lydia Ventker (TEAM COOKINA GRAZ) crowned King and Queen of the Lake.
Megens, 35, covered the 47.2 kilometer loop in 55:08 at an average speed of 50.59 km/h. The British Matthew Dodd 56:16 and Adrian Stieger 57:06 of Austria were the next fastest riders.
Ventker, 39, won the women’s title in 1:03:22, with Austrians Elisa Winter 1:05:25 and Anna Kofler 1:05:27 finishing second and third.
In the 4-person team time trial competition Radsport Team Gaimersheim took top honors in 58:31, while RH77 Factory Racing won the 10-person team time trial in 57:52.
Almost 1500 riders competed in the highly popular, prestigious and always sold out event in the beautiful Salzkammergut lake region near Salzburg.
