The 8th edition of the epic Tour des Stations took place on Saturday high in the Swiss Alps with over 3000 participants riding “Everesting” worthy routes, including the 258km Ultra with 9271m of ascent.
Frenchman Jocelyn Verdenal, 33, won the Ultra race after dropping companions Anthony Rappo and two-time winner Justin Paroz on the Thyon 2000 climb (17km @6%) with 40km remaining. Verdenal finished in 10:12:06, with Rappo next at 10:16:48 and Paroz at 10:23:40.
In the women’s ultra race it was former German MTB champion Cemile Trommer, 35, adding another Tour de Stations Ultra title to her family’s palmares (her twin brother Lion won in 2023) with a time of 12:43:08. Mathilde Germanier placed second in 13:34:33 and Denise Johannsen third at 13:51:29.
The shorter but no less competitive Granfondo (143km, +4900m) was won by the Swiss Armin Dederichs, 27, in 5:12:14, followed by Swiss Hill Climb Champion Rossier Thibault at 5:17:09 and then Romain Gauthier at 5:25:23.
34 year-old WorldTour Women pro Morgane Coston (ROLAND LE DEVOLUY) of France won the women’s Granfondo in 5:39:57, followed by L’etape de Tour Femmes champion Victoria Stansfield at 5:43:02 and the Anouk de Jong at 6:15:17.
The Mediofondo (88km, +3000m) was won by the Italian Mattia Dherin for the men in 3:01:31 and Marion Bindith of Switzerland for the women in 3:28:21.
