This past weekend Lifetime gravel racing returned to Beaver, Utah USA for the 13th Crusher in the Tushar after the event was cancelled last year due to massive wildfires.

Over 800 graveleurs from 33 states raced through the rugged terrain of the Tushar Mountains in temperatures as high as 95 degrees on the eastern edge of the Great Basin Desert.

Winning on the 69 mile gravel fondo route with 6300 feet of climbing was 28 year-old Utah native Zach Calton (CALTON COACHING) who soloed across the finish in 4:09:48. Norweigan Torbjorn Roed, also 28, was next at 4:11:55, with youngster Henry Nelson, 23, from Colorado finishing third at 4:16:32.

Fellow Coloradan Sarah Sturm, 35, won the women’s competition in 4:57:13. 29 year-old Virginian Emma Langley was close behind to take second place in 4:58:09, followed by Anna Gibson, 26, of Wyoming at 4:59:13.

The shorter 37 mile medio length route saw Alison Frye, 60, finish first for the women in 3:37:47, with Isaiah Jerez, 46, doing the same for the men in 3:12:07.
