Victories for Mathijs Loman (SWATT CLUB) and Rosa Klöser (CANYON-SRAM ZONDOCRYPTO) on Sunday at Germany’s Hegau Gravel Festival continued a winning pattern for both that started at Eislek Gravel in Luxembourg two weeks ago.
Departing from the town of Singen on a 108km route, Loman, 26, finished in 3:10:45 after out-sprinting last year’s champion Jonas Koch to take the win. Felix Stehli took the final podium step 29 seconds later.
Although coming up short of the win, Koch posted on Instagram, “Had a blast racing at Gravel World Series Singen. Couldn’t repeat my win from last year, but happy with my second second place in this year’s gravel campaign, especially after a crash early in the race.”
Kloser, 29, soloed to victory in 3:33:18, over 7 minutes ahead of runner-up Sophie Wright. Marielle Trouwborst was next another 5 minutes down.
Over 900 riders competed in the Hegau Gravel Race, with those finishing within the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualifying for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships in the Netherlands next October.
