“This victory is a great emotion. The International Granfondo The Fausto Coppi Generali means a lot to me because it takes place in Cuneo and only we [from] Cuneo can know what this race means for our territory. It was a perfect day. I had a lot of people rooting for me along the way: friends, family and the members of my team to whom I owe everything. I know these climbs by heart so I know exactly what I can do and the pace I have to keep. It went better than I could dream of. I dedicate this victory to my family, without whom I could not train as I do and also to my entire team,” an exstastic Prato told Cuneo24 aftewards.
Marco Provera (TEAM MENTECORPO CICLI) won the shorter 111 kilometer medio fondo in 3:33:02, with Martina Cavallo (OM.CC) earning victory for the women in 3:51:23.
