On Sunday the UCI Gravel World Series offered racers two opportunities to qualify for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships by finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category.
FRANCE: WISH ONE MILLAU GRAVEL
The 4th edition of Wish One Millau Gravel started in southern France in damp conditions, but after battling for 3:57:38 on a 130km course the sun came out to shine on 29 year-old Frenchman Dorian Godon (DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE) as he won a 2-up sprint against Petr Vakoc to take the win. Hugo Drechou was next 23 seconds later.
29 year-old Axelle Dubau-Prevot (NUMERO 31 PAR CAFE DU CYCLISTE) of France soloed across the finish line in 4:31:28 to handily take the women’s title with a six minute lead. Aussie Cassia Boglio and Carolin Schiff of Germany battled for next podium steps, with Boglio prevailing.

KENYA: AFARI GRAVEL RACE
6x Belgian MTB Champion Lukas Malezsewski, 24, won the 2nd edition of Kenya’s Safari Gravel Race in a tight sprint after 111 kilometers of racing across Hells’ Gate National Park and past Pride Rock made famous in the Lion King movie. Kenyan Charles Kagimu was next, followed by Lukas Baum of Germany.
Canadian Hailey Hunter Smith won the women’s race, with local rider Claudette Nyirahabimana second overall and the German Svenja Betz (GER) third. Last year’s champion Maddy Nutt of Great Britain was fourth.
