Taking place in the stunning Italian Dolomite village of Feltre, the 30th Sportful Dolomiti Granfondo on Sunday saw Luca Cavallo (OM.CC) take an arms-raised solo win after conquering 204 kilometers of iconic Giro d’Italia roads.
Along with 2000 fellow grimpeurs (climbing specialists), the 25 year-old overcame 5000 meters of vertical gain on Passo Duran, Forcella Aurine, Passo Cereda, Passo Staulanza and Passo Croce d’Aune’s relentless 10% gradient to claim victory in 6:13:06. Giuseppe Orlando (MG.K VIS-OLMO-PROMOTECH) was two minutes back at 6:15:17 and Alberto Nardin (TEAM BCP BIKE) at 6:15:58 rounded out the podium.
43 year-old Roberta Bussone (RODMAN TEAM) won for the women in 7:08:50, with Venezualan Vanessa Santeliz Bautista (TEAM FACTOR HICARI STEMAX) placing second in 7:09:52 and Loretta Guidici (IL BICICLO TEAM NEW LIMITS) third at 7:27:33.
Filippo Bianchi (TEAM OOP! – XATEN), 35, won the shorter 125 kilometer Mediofondo in 3:37:23. Rossano Mauti (GATTOBIKE TEAM) and Matteo Fontanelli (MG.K VIS-OLMO-PROMOTECH) were next at 3:37:27 and 3:38:50 respectively.
30 year-old Giulia Medri (MG.K VIS-OLMO-PROMOTECH) won the women’s medio a commanding four minute lead in 4:05:48, with Francesca Tommasi (AVESANI) at 4:09:28 and Federica Cancellieri (BIKE RACING GIOPPY) at 4:16:43 earning the lower podium steps.
