After Austria’s SuperGiroDolomiti was cancelled last year due to a rockfall, one of the Alps most demanding races returned on Sunday 8 June 2025 with over 350 of the world’s toughest athletes competing.
The grueling 228 kilometer long route along the Austrian-Italian border featured 5450 meters of quad-busting vertical gain, including legendary Giro d’Italia climbs – Gailbergsattel, Plöckenpass, and the monster Monte Zoncolan.
2x Ötztaler Champion and KOM Thief Jack Burke (FAHRRAD XXL.COM) road away from the field to win by a wide margin. The 30 year-old finished in 6:25:18, followed 20 minutes later by a pair of former UCI MTB World Champions Alban Lakata, 46, and Daniel Federspiel, 38, both Austrian.
Ils van der Moeren (GRINTA GRANFONDOTEAM), 49, of Belgium won the women’s race in 7:37:54, with Austrian Nora Saxenhuber, 29, just 5 minutes behind at 7:43:25 and German Annika Artinger, 24, taking third place at 8:12:40.
The shorter, but no less challenging, 112 kilometer Dolomitenradrundfahrt was won by 32 year-old Rene Pammer (BENETTON SQUADRA) of Austria in 2:47:00. Jan Kattanek and Simon Schupfer were next at 2:54:03.
24 year-old Elaine Glowka of Germany won for the women in 3:26:00, with Austrian 29 year-olds Simone Kupfner and Natalie Rihs finishing second and third a just few minutes later.
