On a miserable hot and humid Saturday in Kansas, luckily without any mud mayhem, 40 year-old Canadian ultra endurance racer Rob Britton (CASTELLI SOG) smashed the Life Time UNBOUND XL 350-mile gravel race in a record 17:49:51, while Australian pro Lachlan Morton (EF EDUCATION_EASYPOST), 33, finished in second place 6 minutes later. Heather Jackson, 41, won the women’s XL while setting a new record too, 20:57:57.

The marque 200-mile men’s race came down to a duel between 24 year-old MTB racer Cameron Jones (SCOTT/SHIMANO) of New Zealand and 32 year-old Swiss pro road racer Simon Pellaud (LING NING STAR). The closing miles saw the pair engage in cat-and-mouse tactics, but with less than two miles to go Jones dropped Pellaud like a rock to win solo in 8:37:09, with Pellaud rolling in 42 seconds later. Torbjørn Røed was third at 8:42:31.

29 year-old Karolina Mignon (PAS NORMAL STUDIOS) of Switzerland won the women’s elite 200-mile race, soling the last two hours to win in 10:03:54. She finished a commanding eight minutes ahead of runner-up Cecily Decker, 30, of the USA at 10:12:29. Sofia Gomez Villafane won a distant group sprint for third place with a final time of 10:22:24.
