Talking place every year on the French Ascension Day holiday, the 43rd Les Trois Cols cyclosportive rolled out from La Tour de Salvagny just outside of Lyon on Thursday morning.
The 143 kilometre race with a never ending series of climbs totaling over 2700 vertical metres departed at 09:00 under sunny skies with 322 competitors.
Soloing to victory in 3:51:08 was 32 year-old Benjamin Buchetet (RACING COFFEE TEAM), with Robin Bourdier (XC63) winning the bunch sprint for second place a minute later. Axel Chatelus (TEAM ATRIA MONTLUCON) finished third.
Marie Brozzoni (TEAM MATERIEL-VELO), 28, won the women’s race in 4:30:59. Pauline Monterrat (VELO SPRINT ROMANAIS PEAGEOIS) was next at 4:40:56, followed by Annet Baken (TEAM MATERIEL-VELO) at 4:51:12.
25 year-old Hugo Buisson (CR4C) was first to finish the shorter 93 kilometre route in 2:37:00, with 28 year-old Noemie Bucamp (CORBAS LYON METROPOLE) winning for the women in 3:00:00.
