A fourth Italian fondo has been cancelled this season for “logistical” issues, with Mediofondo Inseguendo di Il Grande Airone in Castellania – Coppi announcing the event has fallen victim to insurmountable challenges and would withdraw from the seven race Coppa Piemonte series.

The organizer announced the bad news via Facebook, “Despite our commitment and the support of the municipal administration of Castellania – Coppi, the logistical and material conditions necessary for the success of the event have failed. We have therefore decided to CANCEL the event scheduled for next September 14th.”

Though, there is good news… riders already registered may receive a full entry fee refund or transfer their entry to Granfondo Citta di Tortona taking place 22 June in Tortona.

In April the Italian gran fondo circuit also saw Medio Fondo Primavera, Gran Fondo Terrevecchia Teatina and Gran Fondo dei Nebrodi all cancel due to logistical issues.
