The GFNY World Championships in New York City USA crowned two new world champions on Sunday, Italian Matteo Raimondi and Suare Tyffen of France, both riding for the Officine Mattio team out of Italy.

After racing for 3:34:09 and 84 miles Matteo Raimondi (OFFICINE MATTIO) won in a 3-up sprint to the line, defeating former Tour de France stage winner Jan Bakelants and Luis Enrique Lemus Davila of Mexico. Raimondi’s Officine Mattio teammates Luca Cavallo and Manuele Caddeo finished fourth and fifth.

Saure Tyffen (OFFICINE MATTIO) won the GFNY women’s world title solo, finishing with a two minute lead in 3:48:48. American Liza Ray was next at 3:50:29, followed by Flor Espiritusanto in 3:58:48.
