The 54th edition of one of Italy’s most famous and oldest gran fondos, Nove Colli, rolled out from Cesnatico with 6628 participants on Sunday morning.

Conquering the 189 kilometer route, including 3265 painful meters of climbing over nine “hills”, solo and in first place was Alberto Nardin (TEAM BCP BIKE) in 5:12:33. Two minutes later Patrick Facchini and former UCI road world champion Alejandro Valverde sprinted for the lower podium steps, with Faccini besting old man Valverde.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Manuel Bongiorino, Giovanni Loiscioi, Giusepe Orlando, Simone Impelizzeri, Mikel Demiri, Stefano Bonanomi and Ivan Martinelli.

Roberta Bussone (RODMAN TEAM) won the women’s gran fondo solo in 5:56:01 with Vanessa Santeliz and Sonia Passuti earning second and third place.

The shorter 139 kilometer medio fondo saw Medri Giulia (MG.K VIS-OLMO-PROMOTECH) win for the women in 4:01:42, with Nicolo Tamussi (TEAM MOOVEO) doing the same for the men in 3:37:31.
