Fresh off a 3rd place finish on the white gravel roads of Strade Bianche, UAE Team Emirates XRG rider Tim Wellens earned a UCI Gravel World Series victory on Sunday at Marly Grav Race in the Netherlands.

The 34 year-old Belgian WorldTour pro took a solo win on the 155km route, crossing under the finish banner in 4:21:17 to secure a front row start at the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships. A minute later former Dutch pro Joris Nieuwenhuis won a three-up sprint for second place, with Belgian Kevin Panhuyzen third and Austrian Daniel Geismayr fourth.

SD Worx-Protime’s Lorena Wiebes, 26, won the women’s elite race in 5:19:46, although results show the fastest woman on the day was young Dutch amateur Malou Eisen (LIV GRASSROOTS) who finished six minutes faster in 5:13:46.

Guyon De Garde won the 100km medio gravel event in 3:20:22, with 2025 UCI Worthersee Gravel medio champion Marijke De Smedt (VANOMOBIL) the first woman at 3:44:57.

Those riders finishing in the top 25% of their UCI age/gender category qualified for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships taking place in Limburg, Netherlands 11-12 October.
