2500 riders participated in the only Canadian opportunity to qualify for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships at the 30th edition of the spring classic Paris to Ancaster race in Ontario this past Sunday.

Inspired by the famous Paris-Roubaix race, it was the third UCI Gravel World Championship qualifying event to take place over the weekend, following Giro Sardegna Gravel in Italy and the Highlands Gravel Classic in the USA. Competitors finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category at any of the events qualified for the world championships.

31 year-old former pro road racer Ben Perry (GUAVA X CASTELLI) of Canada took overall Paris-Ancaster win in 2:47:49, defeating Yehor Volkov and Theo De Groote in the final run to the line.

Former national Canadian gravel champion Devon Clarke won the women’s race in 3:15:02, followed shortly by Anne-Sophie Herbert and Hannah Simms.
