UCI Gran Fondo World Championship qualifying races returned to Perpignan, France on Saturday 26 April at 66 Degres Sud Cyclo, with Frenchman Lucas Fillatreau (UVAGG) winning the gran fondo solo by over 3 minutes.
The 29 year-old completed the 149 kilometer route, including a leg breaking 2442 meters of climbing, in 4:10:45. Leo Pendery finished in second place at 4:13:53 and Adrien Baron sprinted for third at 4:18:07.
After winning GFNY Cannes in March, Emilie Fortin added a 66 Degres Sud win to her palmares for the women in 4:31:27 solo. Barbara Van Lathem was next at 4:58:48, with Gwenaelle Legendre stepping onto the podium in 5:07:39.
Taking overall victory in the 113 kilometer medio fondo was Henry Jumeaux (TEAM 3SO-CUBE-DUKE) for the men in 3:06:33. Marie Gielen (VC MORTEAU MONTBENOIT) was the first women in 3:18:50.
On Thursday the 18 kilometer time trail was won by David Velthuis in 28:00, with Gwenaelle Legrendre (ALBI VELO SPORT) doing the same for the women in 34:58.
Riders finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category at qualified for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships later this year in Australia.
