Last weekend the legendary Italian bike company Colnago held its 17th Colnago Cycling Festival on the shores of Lake Garda, with almost 4000 dedicated fans from across the world participating in festivities – and a soaking wet Gran Fondo.

Starting and finishing in Desenzano, drenching rain from the first pedal stroke through last did not deter riders from tackling 138km Gran Fondo or 110km Medio Fondo routes.

35 year-old Alberto Nardin (TEAM BCP BIKE) was the first Gran Fondo rider to finish, crossing under the Colnago banner in 3:42:23, almost 7 minutes ahead of Patrick Facchini and Giovanni Loiscio to make an all Italian podium.

2023 Nove Colli champion Monika Dietl, 47, of Germany was first for the women, out-sprinting Lisa De Casere at the finish to win in 4:34:10. Federica Spessot finished third at 4:41:05.

Marco Galimberti (TEAM JOULE) won the Medio Fondo from a bunch sprint in 3:03:08, while Francesca Crestani (1 TO CYCLING) won for the women in 3:16:17.

The 18th Colnago Cycling Festival and Gran Fondo will take place 10-12 April 2026, as always, in Desenzano.
