On Sunday a sold out UCI Gravel World Series race in Worthersee, Austria saw Magnus Bak Klaris (PAS RACING) of Denmark and Geerike Schreurs (SD WORX-PROTIME) of the Netherlands win and earn starting bibs for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships.
After 136 kilometers of racing in what is considered Austria’s “gravel mecca,” the 29 year-old Klaris soloed across the finish with arms raised to take the men’s win in 3:38:16, followed by the Swiss Felix Stehli at 3:38:57 and new Austrian Gravel National Champion Lukas Posterberger in 3:40:53.
For the women it was Scheurs, 35, who pulled away in the final kilometer to win in 4:32:21. 10 seconds later Karolina Migon of Poland and the German Carolin Schiff sprinted for the final podium spots, with Mignon prevailing.
The shorter 84 kilometer medio length race for older age groups was won by Arno Kaspret (X TEAM ZELTWEG) for the men (M60-64) and Marijke De Smedt (VANOMOBIL) for the women (W50-54).
Those riders finishing in the top 25% of their UCI age/gender category qualified for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships tentatively taking place in October at a to-be-announced location.
