18 year-old British Time Trial Champion Aidan Warden (360 CYCLING) was laid to rest on Tuesday 4 March with teammates leading a long procession of cyclists that followed the funeral cortege silently through Warden’s home town of New Longton.

The reigning British Junior 25-Mile Time Trial Champion died in a traffic collision with an automobile on the morning of 1 February while training with teammates.

Upwards of 400 cyclists wearing team kits, as Aidan would want, attended the funeral service (video HERE ) at All Saints Parish.

Joe Cadwallader, Adian’s coach, held back tears as offered these final words to his young athlete, “Today we send you on your ride to Heaven buddy. I know it will be a fast one with the mightiest of climbs. The heart rate might be a bit low, but we should expect that…. Thank you for choosing me to be your coach. It was an honor. I will see you on the other side.”

Police continue to investigate Warden’s death, but have not released additional details.
