Italy’s second gran fondo of the season ended just like the first, with last week’s winners Giulia Bisso (TEAM PIU’SPORT) and Alberto Nardin (TEAM BCP BIKE) standing atop the podium at the 27th Granfondo Laigueglia on Sunday.

Under grey skies on the Ligurian coast over 1500 riders started the 112 kilometer race, including three rated climbs totaling over 1700 meters of vertical ascent.

Giulia Bisso showcased her excellent early season form to win the women’s race in 3:16:16, almost a minute ahead of Silvia Visaggi (OM.CC) and Olga Cappiello (SANTINI SQUADRA CORSE).

In 2:57:09 Alberto Nardin narrowly beat 25 year-old MG.K VIS-OLMO-PROMOTECH teammates Giuseppe Orlando and Mikel Demiri. Finishing fourth was Patrick Facchini (TEAM SILIDOM GARDA).

Granfondo Laiguelglia is part of the Italian gran fondo national circuit, including the Gran Trofeo Gs Alpi e Coppa Lombardia, ZERO WIND SHOW and Specialized Granfondo series.
