On Tuesday 11 February the Italian National Anti-doping Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO Italia) announced final verdicts and the official banning of 15 amateur cyclists for anti-doping violations.
The following are prohibited from participating in sport in any capacity until their ban expires:
Francesco Romano, 26, former pro banned 3 years until 15 April 2027 after testing positive for the substance GW1516.
Emanuele Litrico, 52, banned 3 years until 6 April 2027 for evading, refusing or failing to perform a required anti-doping test.
Marco Mazzoni, 52, banned 3 years until 14 July 2027 after testing positive for Erythropoietin (EPO).
Danilo De Vincenzo, 42, banned 2 years 1 month until 8 August 2026 after testing positive for Clostebol, Tuamine and Clortalidone.
Giuseppina Michela Bergozza, 55, former gran fondo world champion banned 3 years until 14 July 2027 after testing positive for EPO.
Davide Puglia, 47, banned 7 years 6 months until 10 January 2032 after testing positive for EPO.
Giuseppe La Rocca, 61, banned 16 years until 11 July 2040 after testing positive for EPO, Metandienone, Androstatrienedione and Boldenone.
Massimo Rubino, 56, banned 16 years until 19 March 2065 for participating in sport while suspended for previous anti-doping violations.
Pietro Mina, 32, banned 7 years until 7 July 2031 after testing positive for EPO.
Carmine Amendola, 40, banned 1 year until 25 August 2025 after testing positive for EPO, Androstatrienedione and Clostebol.
Giuseppe Scalone, 54, banned 4 years until 16 October 2028 after testing positive for Norandrosterone.
Andrea Alberti, 61, banned 3 years until 10 July 2027 after testing positive for Testosterone.
Allessandro Gaudio, 35, banned 4 years until 15 July 2028 after testing positive for Clenbuterol.
Francesco Martucci, 51 as reported by ciclismoweb.net, banned 3 years until 25 August 2027 after testing positive for Cocaine.
Giuseppi Giustolisi, 29, banned 3 years until 18 September 2027 after testing positive for EPO.
