Great news from one of Europe’s most prestigious events!
After being threatened with cancellation due to road work, the 2025 Otztaler Radmarathon confirmed this past week that the iconic race will take place 31 August from the traditional start in Solden.
The 227 kilometer amateur race with over 5500 meters of climbing was put at risk due to a multi-year road renovation project on the race route, specifically the 1.8km Lueg Bridge along the Italian border.
After discussions between race organizers and Austrian officials, both parties agree the event can proceed as planned using the traditional 227km route.
As in past years, over 8000 riders will try to get one of 4000 coveted starting bids, with lottery pre-registration taking place 1-31 January. The cost of pre-registration is 6 euros, with riders able to sign up as a single, small group (2-4 riders) or a team (5 to 35 riders).
Starting bibs will be drawn by lot only.
The lottery draw will take place mid-February and lucky winners will then be required to pay the full registration fee of 199 euros, plus a 10 euro timing chip deposit.
