The USA amateur road season wrapped up at the 41st El Tour de Tucson gran fondo in Arizona on Saturday morning with over 10,000 participants. Tyler Sites (PROJECT ECHELON RACING) earned top honors with a stunning solo victory, while Chloe Dygert (CANYON SRAM) won the women’s race.

26 year-old Sites, racing in his hometown event, crossed the finish line arms up and wide open after 102 miles in 3:30:29. Cormac McGeough (3:32:31) earned second place, with Garin Kelly (3:34:10) next.

Multiple USA and World Champion Chloe Dygert, 27, finished in 3:43:43 to win the women’s race by over two minutes. Marjorie Rinaldo (3:45:50) and Holly Breck (3:52:42) completed the podium.

The first El Tour de Tucson was held in 1983 and has claimed the title of “America’s Biggest Bike Race” ever since, with top pros, amateurs, weekend warriors and retired cycling stars wrapping up their cycling season every November in the Sonoran desert surrounding Tucson, Arizona.
