As the 2024 European gran fondo season comes to a close, the 8th edition of Veloturk Gran Fondo Cesme in Türkiye took place on Sunday 3 November in the resort town of Cesme on the Aegean Sea, with Gökhan Uzuntas continuing his record streak, winning for an 8th time
The 40 year-old former professional and multiple national champion soled across the finish after 91km in 2:28:56, followed by a large chasing pack over two minutes behind. Sprinting for second place was Ataman Sekerci, with Muhammet Tayyib Yildirim taking third.
Also winning solo was Seniz Pamuk (RISE PERFORMANCE CLUB) in the women’s race. She dominated the field, finishing in 2:45:52, over twenty minutes ahead of Buse Ozlem.
The 67km medio fondo was won by Murat Bayik (KARŞIYAKA BELEDIYESI SPOR KULÜBÜ) for the men and Aylin Kuce for the women.
Over 600 cyclists participated in Veloturk Gran Fondo Cesme, one of Turkiye’s most important amateur cycling races.
