With the announcement of the 2025 Tour de France route today, organizer A.S.O. also announced the 2025 L’Etape by Tour de France amateur series calendar, including the always sold-out L’Etape du Tour on 20 July and the first L’Etape du Tour Femmes on 2 August.

The worldwide amateur gran fondo race series is planning 37 events, with L’Etape Dubai on 2 February kicking the year off and Mexico City’s L’Etape Cuidad de Mexico wrapping things up on 30 November. In between the series will roll along the Cyprian Coast, spin through Sin City, tackle Ecuadorian climbs, traverse Slovenian Alps and tackle two Tour de France stages.

The largest event, 33rd edition of L’Etape du Tour, will take place during the Tour de France on 20 July with amateurs racing over the the penultimate stage of the Tour de France between Albertville and La Plagne – 131km, 4500m of ascent and 5 categorized climbs (Côte d’Héry-sur-Ugine, the Col des Saisies, the Col du Pré, the Cormet de Roselend and La Plagne).

On 2 August the first ever L’Etape du Tour de France Femmes will tackle stage 9 of the women’s Tour de France. It will run on fully closed roads, just like L’Etape du Tour, and cover 112km with 3490m of climbing from Chambery to the the finish on Col de la Madeleine

Both events are expected to sell-out quickly when registration opens November 6 for L’Etape du Tour and November 20 for L’Etape du Tour Femmes. Although, members of the Tour de France Club, free to join, will gain early access to registration.
