The in-person live 2024 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships took place in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Saturday, with New Zealand’s Kate McCarthy and Germany’s Jason Osborne both crowned 2024 UCI Cycling Esports World Champions.
In a thrilling three race omnium in front a live audience, both riders claimed overall victory by winning their final race and surging to the top of the leader board on points.
Alpecin-Deceuninck pro Jason Osborne of Germany won the Men’s 2024 UCI Cycling Esports World Championship with an powerful attack in the final race, earning stage victory and enough points to take the rainbow jersey from Lionel Vujasin of Belgium. Osborne’s final point tally was 177, with Vujasin at 174 to take the silver medal and Kasper Borremans of Finland at 164 to earn bronze. Bjoern Andreassen of Denmark and the USA’s Hayden Pucker were fourth and fifth from an field of 22 rides.

McCarthy won the Women’s world title and rainbow jersey with a total of 180 points, edging out Brazil’s Gabriela Guerra with 176 and Switzerland’s Kathrin Fuhrer at 165. Maria Holdcroft and Lou Bates, both Brits, finished fourth and fifth from a field of 20 riders.
