California USA based Belgian Waffle Ride gravel series (BWR) is heading to the beautiful Big Sky state of Montana and the city of Bozeman in 2025, much to the chagrin of locals. As anyone who has lived in Montana or watched the TV series Yellowstone knows, Montanan’s are not too keen on sun bleached Californians in designer sunglasses meddling in their state… else they might end up at The Train Station.

All the same, on 29 June BWR organizer Michael Marckx will bring his wildly popular California gravel series with BWR merch, craft beer, music and Belgian waffles to Bozeman, looking to attract upwards of 700 graveleurs for the inaugural event.

While event and course details are pending, Marckx told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, “We’re just looking at this first year to deliver a really incredible experience that showcases how cool downtown Bozeman is, but probably more importantly, how awesome the terrain is around the city.”

Besides BWR Montana, the largest gravel series in North America will hold at least 4 more events next year.

BWR California: 27 April 2025 in Del Mar

BWR Utah: 25 May 2025 in Cedar City

BWR North Carolina: 5 October 2025 in Asheville
