Swiss amateur cyclist Rudolf Keller has been suspended until 2033 after the Swiss Sports Disciplinary Tribunal found he participated in the 2022 TOUR Transalp race while banned – a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Article 10.9 violation.
On Monday Swiss Sport Integrity announced Keller, who was previously banned for a Testosterone anti-doping violation and subsequent Article 10.9 violations in 2015 and 2017, repeatedly ignored the terms of his existing ban at the week-long amateur TOUR Transalp race in 2022. Although not allowed to participate, Keller finished 8th in the team competition – and caught the attention of Swiss Sports Integrity.
Swiss Sport Integrity investigated the incident and determined Keller had indeed violated WADA Article 10.9 again, with the Swiss Sports Disciplinary Tribunal then adding 8 more years to his existing ban.
Now, the 54 year-old Keller is banned from participating in any sport in any capacity worldwide until 5 June 2033. He must also pay a fine of 5000 Swiss francs, as well as 1500 Swiss francs for legal costs, to Swiss Sport Integrity.
