Over 3000 eager amateur cyclists from across the globe just finished racing for UCI Gran Fondo / Medio Fondo World Championship titles on Sunday morning 1 September in Aalborg, Denmark.

The main gran fondo race, 152km with 1326m of elevation change, awarded UCI World Champion gold medals and coveted rainbow jerseys in various age/gender categories, from 19-59 years-old for men and 19-49 for women. Older categories raced for 114km with 960m of elevation change.

The largest and most competitive field, by far, was the Men’s 19-34 category with a staggering (and scary) 434 competitors, won by 2023 GFNY World Champion Mattia Gaffuri who soloed to victory.
