712 amateur cyclists from across the globe raced against the clock at the 2024 UCI Gran Fondo Time Trial World Championship on Thursday 29 August. The first rider rolled down the start house ramp at 09:00 (GMT+2) and began a 33.3km “flat as a pancake” individual time trial, with the last rider expected to finish around 16:00. The forecast called for ~20kph wind all day (typical for Denmark), starting from the southeast and by late afternoon rotating to the southwest.

Newly crowned UCI Gran Fondo Time Trial World Champions include former Italian pro and World Road Race Champion Mario Cipollini (M55-59), now 5X World Champion Jessica Rhodes-Jones (W19-34) of Great Britain, Belgian Guillaume Seye (M19-34), who set the fastest time of the day at 38:51 with a blistering average speed of 49.66kph, and Norwegian Sonja Moi (W45-49) who was the fastest women in 45:09.
