In Texas everything is bigger, including the temperature as record heat scorches the state ahead of America’s biggest gran fondo – the 43rd Hotter ‘N Hell Hundred.

10,000+ riders are registered and set to roll out early on Saturday 24 August from blazing hot Wichita Falls… with temperatures expected to hit a sweltering 106F during the ride.

As the event name implies, riding in Texas summer conditions well north of the century mark feels like riding in Hades. The oppressive heat, humidity and wind on the 100-mile route are legendary, with those who fight to finish earning a coveted HHH100 medal and badge of honor – no matter how long it takes them.

Started in 1982 to celebrate the city of Wichita Falls centennial, the 100 mile race in 100 degree heat quickly became known as the Hotter’N Hell 100. Now, riders from across North America make the annual pilgrimage to Wichita Falls in late August to push their bodies, minds and machines to the limit.

As they say in Texas, “This one’s gunna be a scorcher!”
