The last event in the 2024 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship qualifying series took place on the Isle of Man Sunday 28 July, with Corrin Lemming (CYCLING CLUB IOM) winning the storied event.

The 21 year-old British rider defeated pro triathlete Will Draper in a two-up sprint, finishing the 137 kilometer gran fondo in 3:48:41. Gran Fondo Ireland champion Marcus Christie finished third, six minutes back.

Former pro cyclist Jennifer Powell (PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT TEAM), 36, won the women’s race in 4:17:35. Emily Reynolds and Emily Bridson claimed the final podium sports in 4:28:09 and 4:39:35 respectively.

Corrin Lemming also won Saturday’s 9km time trial on the world famous Isle of Man TT motorcycle racing circuit with 400 meters of elevation gain. He completed the course in 22:13, just 1 second faster than Marcus Christie. Callum Stansbury was third in 22:50. Debrah Moss was the fastest woman, stopping the clock in 28:25.

Riders finishing in the top 25% of there UCI age/gender category automatically qualify for the 2024 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships taking place next month in Aalborg, Denmark. So far, over 2000 amateur cyclists from across the world have already signed up, with even more expected in the next few weeks.
