With only 8 UCI Gravel World Series events remaining for elite and amateur riders to qualify for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships, a sold-out Gravel One Fifty took place in very wet and muddy conditions on Saturday 13 July in the Dutch city of Peize.

Fastest and overall winner in the 150km race through mud as thick as peanut butter (or Nutella) was 25 year-old British CX and MTB star Thomas Mein (HOPE FACTORY RACING), who finished solo in 4:26:06 – almost three minutes up on a chasing group of six riders. Earning second place was 32 year-old Dutch rider Rick Ottema (4:28:50), followed by 28 year-old Belgian Brent Cle (4:28:50).

30 year-old UCI World CX Champion Thalita de Jong (LOTTY DSTNY LADIES) won the women’s race in 5:06:57, with Mariëlle Trouwborst (5:07:53) in second place and Wendy Oosterwoud (5:10:36) third.

Peter van Impe (3:05:47) and Reza Ravenstijn (3:26:04) were the fasest male and female riders in the 85km race for older age categories.

2000 riders registered for the event, but only 1000 took to the start line due to weather, with those finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualify to participate in UCI Gravel World Championships next October in Belgium.
