After winning Italy’s Sportful Dolomiti gran fondo two weeks ago, 24 year-old Giuseppe Orlando (CYCLING EXPLORERS) claimed another victory Saturday morning at the famous La Marmotte cyclosportive in the French Alps.

The 24 year-old Italian finished the 177km race by flying up the 21 hairpins of Alpe d’Huez in 44:27 to win with an overall time of 5:23:16, and then dedicated the victory to his brother Emilio. Next was Frenchman Loic Ruffaut (5:25:17) and the Belgian Tim Alleman (5:26:09).

After winning the Ile-de-France Championship last Sunday, 29 year-old Frenchwoman Aurore Pauchet (CSM PUTEAUX) claimed the women’s title in 6:55:09, followed by Julie Heimer (7:07:50) and Inez van Hulsen (7:10:01).

Just over 5000 riders participated in the event, held one day earlier than originally scheduled due to the French snap elections.
