American cyclists Colin O’Brady and Lucas Clarke (LeCol / SUB6) have officially set a new record at Race Across America (RAAM), completing the 3064 mile coast-to-coast competition in 150 hours and 43 minutes (6 days 6 hours and 43 minutes).

Not only did the two life-long friends demolish the old 2-person record at “The World’s Toughest Bicycle Race,” they beat it by a massive 33 hours and 13 minutes by taking alternating 90 minute time trail pulls for six days straight!

“This achievement is the culmination of relentless dedication, rigorous training, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Colin O’Brady.

Lucas Clarke added “We are incredibly proud to have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in endurance cycling and to have set a new standard for future competitors.”

Race Across America has long been regarded as one of the toughest bicycle races in the world, traversing around 3000 miles of asphalt roads from California’s west coast beaches to the east coast of New Jersey on the Atlantic Ocean. Just to finish (most competitors do not), riders must conquer very challenging roads and extreme weather conditions that test not only their physical abilities, but also their mental fortitude.
