UPDATE: Traversari received a 4 year ban by NADO Italia, expiring 13 June 2028.

The owner of online retailer MyDopingStore (yes, that is really the name) has been preliminarily suspended after returning a positive anti-doping test result for Stanozolol, according Italy’s National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO Italia).

Italian Emanuele Traversari, 49, is an amateur competitive cyclist turned performance enhancing nutritional supplement salesman who was previously caught up in the 2007 Oil for Drugs doping scandal, along with banned-for-life Renzo Asci. Traversari received a one year doping suspension for his involvement in the scandal, according to details in a Federazione Ciclistica Italiana (FCI) document.

Now, he is once again facing doping charges after allegedly testing positive for banned Stanozolol.

The drug is an inexpensive anabolic steroid that mimics the effects of Testosterone to boost muscle growth and facilitate quick recovery. Its use is prohibited at all times by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

MyDopingStore is advertised as offering, “High quality dietary supplements for sportsmen and fitness enthusiasts. Adding, “Our company has a consolidated experience in the field of dietary supplements and a wide range of products inherent to all endurance sports; from supplements to accessories and bike clothing, to make your “sgambate” [warm-up] for the most difficult races comfortable…”

If found guilty of anti-doping violations for a second time, Traversari may be banned from sport for up to four-years.
