Virtual training platform ROUVY has taken advantage of competitor Zwift’s recent +33% price hike and resulting customer exodus to roll out new user friendly subscription plans, including pausing and daily passes.
From 1 June forward, ROUVY subscribers may pause their annual subscription (i.e. not be charged monthly fees) for up to 180 days per year, yet still ride 20 kilometers per month for free on the platform. Allowing riders to enjoy outdoor spring/summer riding in-real-life (IRL) before return during colder winter months to use the remainder of their annual subscription.
In addition, for athletes who just want to use the platform every now and then to supplement IRL training, due to inclement weather or other time constraints, ROUVY is now offering daily passes to ride on the platform from one to three days, priced at USD $2.99 for 24 hours, $3.99 for 48 hours or $4.99 for 72 hours.
Annual ROUVY subscriptions run USD $149 versus $200 for Zwift, which does not offer subscription pausing or daily passes.
Via press release Petr Samek, CEO of ROUVY, said “I believe it makes sense to use ROUVY all year round. On the other hand, we absolutely understand that there is no substitute for outdoor riding with friends. Finally, we want loyal and satisfied customers. That’s why we leave it up to our customers. Ride with us year-round, or feel free to pause during the summer, you’re still part of our community of loyal users and have access to all the benefits we offer as part of our loyalty program.”
