The second British UCI Gravel World Series event, Brwydr y Graean, originally scheduled 6 July has been cancelled and replaced with Graean Cymru (“Gravel Wales” in Welsh) on 22 September, providing one last chance for elite and amateur age group riders to qualify for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships.
Starting in Llyn Brenig in North Wales, the 113 kilometer remote gravel course (no cell signal) starts on the shores of Llyn Brenig, circumnavigates the reservoir twice, heads onto the fast n’ smooth gravel roads of Clocaenog Forest and then finishes back at the reservoir. 99% of the course is on gravel, mixed terrain and singletrack, making it a true gravel test.
Riders finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualify for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships taking place in Belgium 4-5 October.
The only other British UCI Gravel World Championship qualifying race, The Gralloch on 18 May, is sold out with over 1500 riders registered from 25 countries.
