2025 Tour de Brisbane results HERE
On a rare double-header race weekend for the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, a record 7000 riders participated in the UCI Tour de Brisbane Gran Fondo and Time Trial in Australia, with those finishing in the top 25% qualifying for the 2024 world championships.
On Sunday two former pros battled for the win after racing 110km on a completely closed gran fondo route, with 32 year-old Taruia Franz Krainer from French Polynesia out-sprinting Florian Barket of New Caledonia to win in 2:46:54. Matthew Enever was next 30 seconds later. Australian Alea Brand finished two minutes up on Megan Chapple and four minutes ahead of Soledad Martinez to win the women’s competition with a time of 2:57:55.
In the 21.2km Tour de Brisbane Gran Fondo Time Trial on Saturday, 26 year-old Aidan Buttigieg from Malta set a blistering fast time of 26:35 to win by a wide margin – 85 seconds. Michael Cook was next at 28:00, followed by Luke Bona at 28:07. Anne Elliott was the fastest woman at 32:04.
