The world’s most popular virtual training platform wrapped up its 2024 Zwift Games elite competition this past Sunday, awarding its biggest prize payout ever, $110,000 USD, plus virtual gold to top competitors in the three event points race series.

Ex-pro, now esports racing privateer, Freddy Ovett from Australia claimed the Men’s Overall Championship after winning the final race up Alpe du Zwift – a replica of the legendary Tour de France Alp d’Huez climb. The 30 year-old took home a total of $20,000 for his performance in the series.

35 year-old Swiss ex-pro skier, now esports racer, Kathrin Fuhrer won the Women’s Overall Championship, winning two of the three races and the earned the biggest total prize payout – $24,000.

Both newly crowned champions also won in-real-life gold painted Wahoo KICKR stationary bikes and shiny limited edition gold colored virtual bikes to showcase their elite status when training and racing on Zwift.

Over 100,000 amateur Zwift riders also participated in the 2024 Zwift Games, racing for personal glory and fun on the same routes as the elite riders, but without performance verification.

The Zwift Games were organized late last year after the company lost the rights to host the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships to MyWhoosh, which offers a robust racing platform, rigorous performance verification and a highly competitive race series paying out $8000 weekly to individuals, plus $30,000 monthly to teams.
