Over the course of 19 years the 200-mile Unbound Gravel race in the Flint Hills of Kansas, USA has become one of the top gravel races in the world, and also one of the hardest to get in, with 4000 starting bibs only available via lottery. This summer European riders will have the chance to score one of those coveted bibs at Heathland Gravel in Belgium.
Unbound organizer Life Time is partnering with Belgium based Flanders Classics to host a first-ever European qualifier on 11 August at Heathland Gravel in Maasmechelen, offering 50 starting bibs for next year’s, 2025, Unbound Gravel race. 25 bibs will be awarded to the fastest riders in each age/gender category of the 160km race, with the remaining 25 distributed via random lottery for all competitors.
”Heathland Gravel in 2024 is the very first and only qualifier event for Unbound Gravel 2025. In Maasmechelen, at least 50 participants will be able to claim their spot for next year. Very exceptional, Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics, said in a press release.
